What is Acupuncture Awareness Week ?

Awareness weeks such as Breast Cancer Awareness Week and Stoke Awareness Week have been around for years and give a great platform to talk to both the media and patients/potential patients about a subject as they make it timely and relevant and increase the overall awareness of the subject.

The first ever Acupuncture Awareness Week (AAW) in the UK, supported by the British Acupuncture Council, will take place on the 27 February to 4 March. The week aims to dispel the myths surrounding acupuncture and give potential patients all the information they need about treatment and what to expect.

To inform our communications around the week we carried out an independent survey of 3,000 people in the UK, to discover what people already know about acupuncture and what misconceptions exist amongst the general public. Our campaign aims to bust any myths that currently exist and provide all of the necessary information to help patients make an informed decision about acupuncture.

The British Acupuncture Council has produced a independant website
www.introducingacupuncture.co.uk
which includes videos of both case study testimonials and a practitioner FAQ, as well as information about acupuncture in general.
